Mercury is a fast moving planet staying in each sign for only about 3-4 weeks. This means it moves through all 12 signs of the zodiac in one year. When it enters a sign it influences our thoughts, planning. 

May 2 –  it enters Taurus. The thinking becomes more practical and less impulsive. Although this change is positive, it can be stubborn and materialistic, creating roadblocks and challenges. There is a tendency to want more. For instance, when the moon is in Taurus the tendency to overindulge in food/drink/buying happens. With that in mind, watch the tendency during the few weeks Mercury is in Taurus to want more than needed or necessary. There could also be a strong focus on real estate, homes, construction and building. Lastly, Taurus is a very sensuous sign turning our thoughts to romance, love and commitments. This can refer to the “love” of an art piece, a song, job or a person!

May 17 –  it leaves Taurus and enters Gemini. It feels at home in a sign it rules. There is a desire to learn more, to have your knowledge challenged. The thoughts become lighter and “airy”, more fun. There is also a “logical” energy intertwined with all of the playfulness. Playing games, especially learning a new one, is an example of combining the need for knowledge and having fun.
